Who am I?
Most all of my paintings start with words of positive energy, some I carve into the gel paste in the base coat, others I paint onto the canvas before I begin my paintings
This practice started as my youngest met with a difficult time in her life, and in my feelings of frustration and helplessness I began to paint my wishes for her into my artwork. Love, Kindness, Bravery, Strength, Healing are often words found in my paintings or as the first intention written on the canvas. I paint to process the world around me. It is my emotional outlet.
I live in Weston, CT with my family of 3 children and my husband of 24 years. I started life in the art world as a dancer. I have found that dance, music, and water fill my soul with a sense of balance. After my years of choreography and teaching dance, I discovered that I love to paint when a dear friend asked me if I could paint a backdrop for his musical in the city. With the left over paint I found myself wanting to create art to process what I was going through on a day to day basis.
Many of my abstract paintings are based on Water, Reflections, the Sky, and our Earth. How we perceive the world around us. For me inner peace is near the water. Walking on the beach with friends gives me strength.
I hope that you find a peaceful moment to stop and reflect as you view my work.
